"President Dissanayake's UAE Visit: Strengthening Economic Ties & Global Engagement"





President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has entered its second day today.

This visit was undertaken at the invitation of UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Upon arriving at Dubai International Airport last evening, the President and his delegation were warmly welcomed by UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, along with other senior officials.

Later, President Dissanayake met with Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Chairman of Master Investment Group and the Ruler’s Representative for Ras Al Khaimah. The discussion focused on enhancing economic and investment cooperation between Sri Lanka and the UAE.

Following this, the President attended the ‘TIME 100 Gala Dinner’ at the prestigious Museum of the Future in Dubai.

One of the key highlights of this visit will be President Dissanayake’s address at the 2025 World Government Summit.

The summit will host over 4,000 prominent leaders and delegates from 150 countries, making it a crucial platform for global discussions on futuristic policies, technological advancements, and international cooperation.

Additionally, bilateral discussions with several world leaders are scheduled.

A key focus of the visit is to engage with CEOs of leading global companies in Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Energy, Tourism, Finance, and Media sectors, aiming to attract new investments to Sri Lanka.

Furthermore, the President is expected to hold high-level meetings with the UAE President, Vice President, and Prime Minister.

He is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, Vijitha Herath.

President Dissanayake is scheduled to return to Sri Lanka on the 13th of this month.
