Velanai, 16: A tragic incident occurred in Velanai, Jaffna, where a 9-year-old boy lost his life due to electrocution.
Incident Details
The deceased has been identified as Chandrakasan Kanistan Reports suggest that on the evening of the day before yesterday, while alone at home, the child attempted to connect an electrical device, which resulted in electrocution.
His mother had gone to a relative’s house at the time. Upon returning home, family members noticed the situation and rushed the boy to Velanai Hospital for treatment.
However, medical reports confirm that the child passed away on the way to the hospital.
Post-Mortem Examination & Police Investigation
The child's body has been sent to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital for a post-mortem examination, while the Kayts Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
