Chennai: Last night, people across various parts of India witnessed a breathtaking celestial event as a rare meteor shower lit up the sky. The phenomenon, which lasted for nearly two hours, amazed stargazers and left scientists excited about its unusual intensity.
According to astronomy experts, this meteor shower was caused by debris from a previously undiscovered comet. Cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, and Bangalore reported bright streaks of light cutting across the sky, with many residents capturing stunning photos and videos.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime event. The sheer number of meteors visible to the naked eye is extraordinary,” said Dr. Ramesh Kumar, a space scientist from the Indian Institute of Astrophysics.
